ADORE DENTAL | KANGAROO POINT, BRISBANE
THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE PRACTICE.
A small team, working to one approach. Here is who does what, and who you will meet.
PRINCIPAL DENTIST
DR ELLIE KIM.
Ellie founded Adore around one question: what cosmetic dentistry looks like when it is built around keeping your natural teeth. That question still decides how every case here gets planned.
Minimal and non-prep veneers are the work she does most of, and she plans each case with the ceramist who makes them.
Training & qualifications →
Ellie graduated from the University of Queensland and has focused her continuing education since on conservative cosmetic dentistry and adhesive technique, which is the area she now teaches in.
Qualifications- Bachelor of Dental Science (Honours), University of Queensland
Memberships & certifications- Member, Australian Dental Association
- Certified Invisalign provider
- Dr Ellie Kim (DEN0002313013), registered dentist, general registration.
The work she focuses on →
Minimal and non-prep veneers, and conservative cosmetic dentistry generally. The common thread is doing as little to a tooth as the result allows, which takes longer to plan and leaves less room to correct later.
Every case is assessed before anything is recommended. Where bonding, whitening or aligners would do what you are after, she will say so, and where a case would be better handled by a specialist she will refer it.
TEACHING & MENTORING →
Ellie co-directs a hands-on veneers course in Sydney with Dr Youngmin Park, teaching minimal and non-prep technique to other dentists.
Teaching means the technique has to be explained and justified out loud on a regular basis, which is a useful discipline to have. It also means her continuing education is ongoing rather than something that finished at graduation.
OUR DENTISTS
MORE OF THE TEAM.
DR CHERISE TAN
Cherise works in prevention and early intervention, which in practice means finding things while they are still small and straightforward to deal with. She sees examinations, hygiene, fillings and restorative work across general dentistry, and she also takes aligner cases and implant surgery.
Training & qualifications →
- Qualifications
- Bachelor of Oral Health in Dental Science
- Graduate Diploma in Dentistry
- Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Dentistry (Oral Implants), Australasian College of Dental Practitioners
Dr Cherise Tan (DEN0002219612), registered dentist, general registration.
DR YUMI CHOI
Yumi works across general and cosmetic, and has postgraduate training in orthodontics, so how the teeth sit is usually part of how she plans a case. Where straightening first would mean less work later, she will put that on the table rather than assume you want the quicker route.
Training & qualifications →
- Qualifications
- Bachelor of Oral Health in Dental Science, Griffith University
- Graduate Diploma of Dentistry, Griffith University
- Postgraduate training in orthodontics
Certifications- Certified Invisalign provider
Dr Yumi Choi (DEN0002137950), registered dentist, general registration.
DR JANET KUONG
Janet is the newest dentist at Adore and she sees general dentistry across the board, from routine check-ups and fillings through to urgent appointments. She is often who you will see if you are fitting something in at short notice, and she is usually the one with room left on a busy day.

MORE TO ADORE
AND THE TEAM AROUND THEM.
ELAINE | HYGIENIST
Elaine does the cleans, and the part where you find out what your gums are actually doing. If you have been told your gums bleed and left it at that, she is the one who does something about it. She also runs the maintenance appointments that gum treatment depends on once it is underway.
JORJA | CLINIC MANAGER
- Jorja runs the place. Scheduling, the things that go wrong, and making sure the day holds together. If something needs sorting out she is usually the one who sorts it, and if you need to move an appointment she is the person to ask.
JESSICA | TREATMENT COORDINATOR
- Jess is who you talk to about your treatment plan once the clinical conversation is done: what the stages are, what each one costs, and how to spread it if you need to. She is not the person deciding what treatment you need. She is the person making sure you understand the plan and the money before you commit to anything.
MACKENZIE | RECEPTIONIST/CONTENT CREATOR
- Mackenzie assists in the surgery and is also the reason anything ever appears on our TikTok. If you have seen a video of a veneer going on, that was her behind the camera between handing over instruments.
DAYA | DENTAL ASSISTANT
- Daya assists in the surgery, which means she has set everything up before you sit down and is a step ahead of the dentist for the whole appointment. Most of what makes a visit feel unhurried is a dental assistant who already knows what is needed next.
EBONY | SENIOR DENTAL ASSISTANT
- Daya assists in the surgery, which means she has set everything up before you sit down and is a step ahead of the dentist for the whole appointment. Most of what makes a visit feel unhurried is a dental assistant who already knows what is needed next.
FLOSSY | CLINIC DOG
- Flossy is Ellie’s cavoodle and she comes in to sit with anyone who would like her to. If dogs are not your thing, or you would rather she stayed out of the room, say so when you book. Nobody will mind.
